川添奨太、V4達成＆三冠王奪回！

苦汁をなめた年月にピリオドを打ち、新たなる伝説の幕が開けた！

これを最後に今季の各ランキング、そして来季のシード権が確定する大会として、例年もっとも注目を集めますが、今年はいつにもまして見応えのある熱い戦いとなった全日本プロボウリング選手権大会。

初日こそは玉井慎一郎に譲ったものの、予選2日目にはパーフェクトを達成して首位を奪取し、独走を続けた川添奨太の三冠奪取という悲願は果たされるのか。

予選後半から川添をぴたりとマークした日置秀一は5年ぶりの全日本制覇なるか。

そして準決勝では永野すばるや斉藤琢哉、自身初の800シリーズを達成して今大会ダークホースとなった田坂大輔といった20代後半から30代にかけての若手の踏ん張りと、矢島純一、原田招雄、酒井武雄、山崎行夫といった大ベテラン組による怒濤の追い上げは見守る観客のボルテージを上げてくれました。

川添・日置によるワンツーは不動のまま決勝ステップラダーへ。中盤でビッグゲームを叩き出した田坂が二人に続き、残る1席を巡る戦いはさらにヒートアップしましたが、4位を守っていた斉藤を儀間義博が引きずり下ろして最後の切符を手に入れました。

しかしながらどの選手も死力を尽くしての投球はさすがプロボウラーと言えるでしょう。なかでも特筆すべきは今季プロデビューの新人・髙淵常志。

16歳5ヶ月で史上最年少合格記録を更新した髙淵はすべてのプロが憧れるこの大会に出場を果たした上に、準決勝では大健闘を見せて予選24位から12位まで浮上。なんとポイントランキング48位に滑り込み、シード入り最年少記録も更新。明日11/30に17歳の誕生日を迎える髙淵の今後が非常に楽しみになって参りました。

そしてまずは4位決定戦、両者初優勝がかかった田坂VS儀間の対戦は、ほぼ互角のまま10フレ勝負に持ち込まれましたが、儀間がストライクを繋げられず218ピンで終了。田坂はパンチアウトを決めて233ピンで儀間を下します。

続く3位決定戦も田坂は序盤、4連続ストライクに成功。後半でやや崩れましたがラッキーも引き寄せて日置を突き放し、川添との優勝決定戦へと進みます。

初優勝まであと一つとなった田坂ですが、その前に立ちはだかる川添という壁は厚すぎました。

昨年トップシードで優勝決定戦に臨んだものの藤井信人にストレート負けを期して三冠すべてを失った川添にとって、「全日本で負けても三冠王」はあり得ません。全日本V4、それも1ゲームで勝負を決める。その上でポイント・賞金・AVGすべての頂点に立つと決めてかかったこの大会だけに、その気合いは凄まじいものがありました。

さきほどの田坂の再現のように4連続ストライクで滑り出し、果敢に攻める川添。対する田坂は日置との対戦で運を使い果たしたか、2フレーム目をスプリットからオープンにし、5フレーム目までストライクが決まりません。

8フレーム目でようやく立て直しターキーを決めたものの時すでに遅し。10フレームを前に勝負を決めた川添でしたが、それでも勝負どころの9フレーム目からターキーを決めて完膚無きまで田坂の逆転の目を潰しました。

残すところウィニング投球のみとなったところで万感胸に迫るものがあるのか、軽く目を閉じて深呼吸する川添。最後の一投は7本カウントとなりましたが、60ピンの大差を付けて田坂に完勝。

「絶対に来年は全日本優勝して三冠を取り戻す」と公言した通り、見事全日本4勝目、そして4度目の三冠王の座をその手で掴み取りました。

来季もさらなる高みを目指す川添、そんな川添を追う若武者達といぶし銀の生けるレジェンド達による、白熱の戦いにどうぞご期待下さい！

Dom Barrett Repeats as Qatar Open Champion, Defeats Stuart Williams in All-England Title Match

Dom Barrett won an all-England championship match, defeating country Stuart Williams, 495-488, in the two-game title match to successfully defending his Qatar Open title at Qatar Bowling Center Thursday. Barrett earned $40,000 and his fourth PBA Tour title.

The Qatar Open is a PBA International Tour-World Bowling Tour event.

After the two English bowlers tied at 206 at the end of the first game, Barrett rolled a 189 game to top Williams’ 182 for the seven-pin margin of victory.

In the semifinal round, Williams, who earned the No. 1 qualifying position earlier in the day, eliminated Robert Morris University-Illinois collegiate star Cameron Weier of Federal Way, Washington, 434-421, while Barrett ended Sweden’s Martin Larsen’s bid for his first PBA Tour title, 510-469.

PBA International Tour players now travel to Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, for the 8th Kingdom International Open, Nov. 28-Dec. 2. A number of PBA members from the U.S. and around the world will then close the year by competing representing their home countries in the World Men’s Bowling Championships – a non-PBA event – in Abu Dhabi, UAE.

11月23日（日）にイーグルボウル（大阪）にて開催されました承認大会・第13回関西ブランズウィック会プロアマフェスティバルで宮地優選手が優勝されました。

予選6G、準決勝3G、決勝3Gのトータル12Gを投げて237.33AVGとぶっちぎりのスコアで並み居るプロや強豪アマを下しました。

ジョン・テハ＆ジョン・ホウジョン　優勝！

11月恒例、中国新聞杯広島オープンが広電ボウルにて開催されました。

永野すばるがパーフェクトを、砂子明廣が7-10スプリットメイドを達成するなど非常に盛り上がった大会を、男子はジョン・テハ、女子はジョン・ホウジョンの韓国勢が制覇しました！

男子の決勝シュートアウトで、砂子と玉井慎一郎、石原章夫らを下して勝ち上がったジョン・テハは大御所・矢島純一と対戦。ワンマーク差の接戦を制しました。

西村美紀やディフェンディングチャンピオンの石本美来選手を倒したジョン・ホウジョンとトップシードで待ち受ける近藤文美との女子優勝決定戦は、ジョン・ホウジョンが8フレーム目をオープンにした隙に近藤が逆転しましたが、ジョン・ホウジョンが勝負どころの9フレーム目からターキーを決めて再逆転。韓国勢によるアベック制覇となりました。

Korea’s Song Si Ra Wins It’s Daejeon International Open; Canada’s Dan MacLelland Finishes Third

Korea’s Song Si Ra became the first woman to win a World Bowling Tour major title when she upset countryman and top qualifier Choi Tae Seung, 231-205, to win the It’s Daejeon International Open at the Daejeon World Cup Bowling Centre Sunday.

Song, 24, advance to the title match by defeating Canada’s Dan MacLelland, 213-195, in the semifinal match after MacLelland won a three-player shootout match to start the championships round.

In the It’s Daejeon International Open, like many international events, women who entered the “open” division received eight handicap pins per game, but Song didn’t need the “bonus” pins because she won each match by more than eight pins. Along with her title, Song earned 40 million Korean won, the equivalent of $37,200 U.S. dollars. Choi earned $18,600 and MacLelland took home $9,00 for his third-place finish.

In the shootout match, which was televised nationally in Korea, MacLelland’s 196 eliminated Korea’s Lee Na Hyun (168) and Jang Dong Chul (167). Lee was the second woman to make the championship round.

Song does not receive credit for a PBA International Tour title because she is a non-member, and in order for a woman to earn a PBA Tour title, she must be a PBA member and bowl the event without receiving handicap pins.

PBA International Tour players now travel to Doha, Qatar for the Qatar Open, Nov. 22-27, and the 8th Kingdom International Open in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, Nov. 28-Dec. 2. A number of PBA members from around the world will then close the year by competing in the World Men’s Bowling Championships – a non-PBA event – in Abu Dhabi, UAE.

パク・キョンシンが大会初制覇！

25年ぶりの日本人優勝から明けて一年、世界チャンプの座をJPBAが連続して占めることは出来るのか、それともPBAが王者奪回を果たすのか、はたまたKPBAによる初優勝があるのか。期待と興奮で選抜大会から盛り上がりを見せた今年のROUND1JAPANCUPBOWLINGが本日とうとうその熱戦の幕を閉じました。

昨年のファイナリストである加藤祐哉と渡邊航明、E・J・タケットらが予選で敗退、堀江真一と優勝候補の一人・川添奨太らが準決勝トーナメント1回戦で敗退するなど波乱含みの展開となるなか、昨日お知らせした通りPBAから4名、KPBA2名、JPBA1名、アマチュアから1名とバランスの良い顔ぶれがファイナル進出を果たします。

3G先取マッチの準決勝から一転、笑っても泣いても1G勝負のガチンコ対決はKPBAのキム・ヨンクァンとPBAミカ・コイブニエミの対戦からスタート。

前半に5連続ストライクを決めてリードを奪ったものの、後半はストライクが続かないコイブニエミ。さらに10フレーム1投目でスプリットを出してしまい、対照的に後半で5連続ストライクを決めたキムが形勢逆転して逃げ切ります。

第2試合、石原章夫とマーシャル・ケントの対戦は、互いにターキー以上ストライクが繋がらず我慢のボウリングとなりますが、4フレーム目をスプリットからオープンにしたケントに対しノーミスを守った石原が勝利。

第3試合ではアマチュアの宮澤拓哉選手が空気に呑まれてしまったか、滑り出しからオープンフレームを連発し、クリス・ローシェッターが終始優勢を守って勝ち抜きます。

しかしながら若干18歳で世界王者決定戦の檜舞台に立った宮澤選手、今後はこの敗戦を糧にして、世界へ大きく羽ばたいて行ってくれることは間違いないでしょう。

そしてベスト4最後の一人を決める世界最多勝利王のウォルター・レイ・ウィリアムズ・Ｊｒ対パク・キョンシンの戦いは、パクがストライクを連発してウォルター・レイを寄せ付けないままパクが勝利。

頂上決戦への切符を賭けた準決勝、第1試合のカードはキムVS石原。前半はまったくの互角、中盤でキムがワンマークリードを取るも石原がじりじりと追い上げ8フレーム目で逆転。そこから1ピンの差を守り抜いての勝利という息が詰まりそうな真剣勝負が繰り広げられました。

続く第2試合ではローシェッターが勝負に打って出るもこれが裏目に出て大荒れのスコアとなる一方、パクは再びストライクを連発。

これにより最終決戦は石原とパクの対決に突入。

JPBA最後の砦、2年連続JPBA勢によるJAPANCUP制覇への大きな期待を背負いながらもそれを悠然と受け入れ、自分のボウリングに徹して来た石原でしたが、7年ぶりに王手を掛けた優勝を前にして、「勝ちたいという欲が出た」と語ります。

しかしその願いを裏切って10番ピンが飛ばず、またしても我慢を強いられる展開に。

対するパクもまた「JAPANCUPは憧れの大会だった。是非勝ちたい」と願い、その強さが勝利の女神を引き寄せたか、滑り出しからラッキーな場面も織り交ぜつつストライク6連発に成功。

飛ばない10番ピンに苦戦しながらも焦らず、倦まず、ベテランの味を見せてノーミスを守り抜いた石原ですが、パクの快進撃を前にスコア及ばず。

アウェーでの戦いながらもKPBAの仲間の声援に力をもらい、JAPANCUP28回の歴史において初のKPBAによる優勝という快挙を、見事パク・キョンシンが果たしました！　

大会史上に名を残す活躍でベストアマ獲得！

Chris Barnes sweeps two opponents to win men's title in 50th QubicaAMF Bowling World Cup

After qualifying for the QubicaAMF Bowling World Cup for the first time in his illustrious career, PBA star Chris Barnes swept his two opponents in the stepladder finals to win the men's title in the 50th anniversary edition of the prestigious event Sunday, Nov. 9 at Sky Bowling Center in Wroclaw, Poland.

The six-time World Champion and 17-PBA titlist, who finally had won the Team USA Trials in January to earn berth into the World Cup after finishing second in the qualifier for five times. He mached the performance of his wife Lynda, who won the 41st World Cup in Llubljana, Slovenia, in 2005, making them the only couple that has won the World Cup.

Earlier on Sunday, the 40-year-old right-hander defeated Sweden's representative, Magnus Johnson, 257-213, in the position round match to overtake the 21-year-old Swedish youth national team member and to claim the No. 3 seed for the stepladder finals in best-of-three games format.

In the semifinal match against No. 2 seed, Mykhaylo Kalika of Ukraine, Barnes won the first game by eleven nine pins, 215-205, then reeled off twelve consecutive strikes in the second game for a 300-219 win to advance to the title match, two-games-to-none.

It was the fourth perfecto of the event and the 71st overall in the 50-year history of the event. Barnes is seventh U.S. bowler (six men, one woman) who achieved perfection at the World Cup. Kalika rolled his first perfecto in Wroclaw two years ago and his second in Krasnoyarsk, Russia, last year.

The first game of the championship match against top-seeded Tobias Börding, Germany, was a strike fest. Börding, who has led the event from the first day averaging almost 240 for 36 games, scored nine strikes and converted three single-pin spares. Barnes, however, had even ten strikes and only two single-pin spares to take a 1-0 lead, 265-248.

The second game was close throughout eight frames. Working on a double, Börding, who held a slim lead, left a 10-pin standing in the ninth frame which opened the door for Barnes. The PBA star struck in his 9th and 10th frame to force Börding to throw two strikes in his last frame which would have force Barnes to throw another strike to win.

Börding got away with the first strike but when he got another 10-pin on his second shot the match was over. Barnes won the game, 231-216, and the match 2-0, to capture his first and maybe last World Cup title.

Clara Juliana Guerrero wins the women's title at 50th QubicaAMF Bowling World Cup

14 years after starting her international career with a runner-up finish at the QubicaAMF Bowling World Cup in Lisbon, Portugal, Clara Juliana Guerrero of Colombia lifted the trophy after winning the 50th edition of the prestigious event at Sky Bowling Center in Wroclaw, Poland.

The 32-year-old two-time World Champion, who led the match play round earlier today to earn the No. 1 seed, defeated Sin Li Jane in a high-scoring title match best-of-three games format, two-games-to-one.

Guerrero, who also owns a World Ranking Masters title, a European Bowling Tour title and a PBA regional title, took the first game, 239-234, but the Malaysian national team member leveled the match with big 257-243 win in game two.

Guerrero started the deciding third game with eight consecutive strikes and never looked back. She finished with two spares for a 265-211 victory. Guerrero toppled 747 pins in three games, a record for the World Cup.

Li Jane had to go the distance in the semifinal match against No. 3 seed, Brittni Hamilton, before she ousted the Team USA member, 2-1. Hamilton took a 1-0 lead behind a 235-181 win in the opening game. The Malaysian rebounded with a 236-234 win in game two to force a decider. She advanced to the title match with a 213-204 win.
